This is Heli-Lift Services machine,a Huey based in Oxfordshire.It was draughted in to assist in the uplift of a generator required while maintainance work is carried out on the power supply to the Nevis Range Ski Centre up on Aonoch Mor near Fort William.

Carrying bags of heather over onto the moors, to be used for repairing moorland damaged by acid rain.

It had just been refuelled and performed a 360 so it could get the correct headwind approach, bags were hooked onto the sling and then it departed towards the Pennine Way.

Each cycle took around 5 or 6 minutes with refuelling every 45mins.

Ravaged by wildfires, polluted by factory smoke and grazed by sheep, moorland on the South Pennines has suffered a long assault since the Industrial Revolution. But now 24,000 bags of heather cuttings will be spread across 1.6 million square metres of bare and eroding peat to encourage the growth of a protective layer of vegetation.
